Zohran Mamdani wins NYC Democratic mayoral primary
New York State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, a Muslim of Indian-Ugandan descent, won the New York City Democratic mayoral primary Tuesday night, beating former Gov. Andrew Cuomo after neither candidate secured a majority of the vote.
Cuomo conceded after it was announced the race would be decided by a ranked choice.
Trump lambasts Israel over ceasefire violation with Iran
United States President Donald Trump publicly condemned Israel on Tuesday for violating a ceasefire deal with Iran.
“ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS,” Trump wrote in all caps on Truth Social. “IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.”
Death toll from Damascus church bombing rises to 27
27 worshippers were killed and 63 injured in a suicide bomb attack during a mass service in the St. Mar Elias Church in Damascus on Sunday, Syrian state media SANA reported. The original death toll was 20 according to the Syrian Health Ministry, which updated the number of victims on Monday.
The Syrian Interior Ministry said that a gunman opened fire on worshippers before detonating an explosive vest, blaming the Islamic State (IS) for the attack.

Abu Abbas Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “One day I was behind the Prophet (ﷺ) [riding on the same mount] and he said, “Oh young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice]: Be mindful of Allah and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, then ask Allah [alone]; and if you seek help, then seek help from Allah [alone]. And know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already prescribed against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.”
